Intensive drill !!!

Hi readers,

What's up? How's life going on? It might be a bit late 4 me 2 post about our intensive week, but it's never late for me to turn back and look at these memories ;)

You know my mum use 2 say that we shouldn't simply make promises if we are not able to fulfil it.I still remember I did promise to share with you all about Mamaev Kurgan.Hey guys, Mamaev Kurgan can be said as  the center of attraction in this city of heroes. Mamaev Kurgan is place of burial of these heroes. There were a lot of heroes who died during the Stalingrad battle. Though there were many heroes who died, Russia is still a champ in reality. This is something that russians are still proud of until today.Mother of Russia's land, referring to Mamaev Kurgan stands courageously and firmly with her sword pointing towards Germany.

Did you all wonder why is it a woman's and not a man's figure that has been built? This Stalingrad (the former name of  Volgograd) Battle was a part of great patriotic war. This war was known as great patriotic war because, besides russian soldiers, their citizens too, took part in this war. It's simply heartbreaking to see the occurrence of this war, even though we had just watched the movie . See how cruel were the people! Here's a few pix that I had snapped at Mamaev Kurgan!

The beauty of autumn

Our intensive week was pretty long, but we didn't really feel the tiredness. You might be wondering why?
Haha.Since we were new, our russian lecturers brought us all around the city. We went to many, many places! Let me list it down one by one!
-cinema (the so-called 5stars cinema)
-Mamaev Kurgan
-Butterfly Park
-Blinni Club (actually it's a restaurant, blinni means pancake)
-many many parks( i guess we went to most of the parks in Volgograd)
-Volgograd restaurant ( indeed it's a high-class restaurant)
-Stalingrad Battle Panoramic Museum
-museums ( simply uncountable number of museums, there are a lot of museums in Volgograd. They even keep dinosaurs' skeletons.hehe)
-Kachinski market ( market, which sells clothes.Actually you can get clothes at reasonable price here. Not to lie, most of the prices are the same, just that it's negotiable here)
-took a troll by Volga river
and many, many more!

Our intensive finished at the end of October.Actually, before that we gave a surprise to our russian lecturer, since, she will not be teaching us any longer.Let me look for the video that we had recorded. Seriously, she got a shock of her life! My classmates wanted me to act. Reza was the victim of the day.I'm pretty sure you guys wanna know how I acted.Unfortunately, my acting was not recorded, because it went on live.hehe ;)
The plan was like this...
Our first lesson was russian language.Nazura, Brian and Fatin went to class as usual.Daryl, Reza and me was waiting out at the corridor. It was already 15minutes past 8, then I rushed into the class...

me: (panting mode) ma'am, Reza fell on the street. Fast, fast!!!
lecturer: (shock).Seriously? (then she rushed to the staff room to call an assistant)
By then, we were already waiting out at the corridor with a farewell  cake and card. Here's the video...(but sorry, the video's in russian language).First of all, she said 'students, you should have not made it this way"
Hahaha. But, we are students, that's our way ;)

She was really happy on that day.We went to the Blini Club and spent time with her.We compiled all the pictures that we had taken with her and let it run as slide shows. She's was very happy =D
Here's a few pictures that we had taken with her ;)

My Journey Continues!

Hi readers,

It has been for quite some time i left my blog lonely. Now, i'm back! I guess my blog readers would be waiting impatiently to know what's next, what's next? haha.

When I came to Russia it was early autumn. The sun was shining brightly, the atmosphere was very very inviting. Our russian lecturer, Natalia Goncharenko and  the officer in-charge for malaysian students, Nina brought us around the city.We went for a troll around the city. We were accompanied by a russian translator. She was explaining to us about the city in english. We went to enormous number of places. We went to Stalingrad War Panorama Museum, Mamaev Kurgan, Pavsiev Barsov and many more places.

We saw the remnants of Stalingrad War nearby Stalingrad War Panoramic Museum. There were all preserved to commemorate the sacrifices made by russian soldiers in this war and indirectly to boost the tourism industry of this country. Some of u all might be wondering what war is this? This war played a significant role in Second World War.This war was against the germans. The german soldiers headed by Adolf Hitler attacked Russia to bring Russia under their control, but patriotic russian soldiers defended their motherland till the end.

Russian (formerly known as Soviet Union) troop was headed by Joseph Stalin.  Amid that golden ages, he was among the leaders of Allied Powers. These leaders were known as "The Big Three".Joseph Stalin, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill were from Russia, United States of America and United Kingdom respectively. It's pointless to tell much information about a catastrophe with any pix. Here are the pix taken nearby the museum.

I guess i didn't write much about Mamaev Kurgan right.Wanna know what is Mamaev Kurgan? I'm having shortage of time now, but promisingly i'll share about Mamaev Kurgan to you all a day.

Until then bye bye!
Have a great day!

My Journey Begins!

Hi guys!

It is so fascinating to meet u all again.I have been waiting for this moment, so that I can share what have I gone through for almost one month in Russia. I would like to start my journey from our paradise, Kuala Lumpur International  Airport, since that it was my first time to board a flight. It is not always I could get a wonderful, super duper, awesome opportunity like this.It was my first time and I was out there in the air, (indirectly trying to say that I was in the aeroplane), flying so high to attain a medical degree(MD) in Russia. Profession as a doctor is more than a scroll of MD for me.It is my passion, love and happiness. Treating a patient, or if better said like helping a friend no matter who they are, regardless of their age background is the one that gives me happiness.

I guess I am gradually turning into a philosopher now.All sort of ideas are flowing out of my mind now.Back to the story line, actually, my flight was scheduled at 2340 hours, but I was quite startled when my sponsor asked me to make a move at 2100 hours. That was very early. As they are my sponsor, it is good for me to obey their orders. Some of my relatives came around 10 past 2100 hours, unfortunately, they could not get a chance to meet me. All MINDEF and JPA scholars went together to the place where we were supposed to board the flight. Here are some pix taken at KLIA with my friends.

Do we (students) have similarities?
Look at our ties and blazers. We are MINDEF scholars.

Look at this guy!Talking like a YB.
He loves to talk about politics, but unfortunately i don't like to.

Who is this girl?Wanna know?
What is she doing?
then, stay tuned!hehe ;)

This pic was taken together with all the JPA and MINDEF scholars .
Can u guess where am  I?
We waited there for approximately an hour before we were checked thoroughly. Finally, my journey began to Heathrow-London.That was just my transit. It was MAS AIRLINES MH002 that we boarded. This flight was also boarded by Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who was on her way to attend a conference in London. She was invited it seems. It was a totally new experience for me. Firstly, I found a place for me to put my cabin bag and then i took my seat, as if I have boarded flight for times. The Irish guy who sat beside me noticed me and his first question was "Are you nervous?" I replied "Yup,a little bit".Then began the conversation between him and me.On my right was a Chinese businessman.Initially, he was quiet. I started the conversation with him and then he began to feel free to talk to me.He was sharing the current demand of his business in Malaysia and overseas. I was hearing him enthusiastically.

We arrived at Heathrow-London early morning. Then we waited in that airport till afternoon. We boarded this Russian airline, called Aeroflot and made our way to Moscow.Boarding this foreign airline, with all their people looking at you a kind, is not so inviting. You know something, when I boarded MAS, everything went on smoothly, but when I went into this flight, there came the life ordeal for me. My cabin bag space was taken by the russian. I was searching frantically a place to put my cabin bag and this russian stewardess was standing static and looking at me.She doesn't even have any courtesy to help me.

With the courage I had that time, I questioned her.Only then she looked out for me.My whole journey in Aeroflot was so dull. I was seating by the window. There were a woman and her daughter beside me.This woman was murmuring something to her daughter, it sounded like some dissatisfaction was in the air.I just ignored the fat, masculine woman. Her daughter was more open-minded. I was trying to start a conversation with her, but that fat woman was talking non-stop with her daughter. Then, they started to watch a  movie. What a foil for me! But then, I managed to talk a while with her. It was already night when we reached Moscow airport. Then, we met a malaysian officer there. He was helping us out with our next journey to Volgograd.

Without further delay, we walked to the other side of the Sheremetyevo Airport to pick up our luggages and check in these luggages again. Their checking was more strict. You have to take out everything from your pockets. You have to get yourself clear from socks and shoes. There was a kind plastic given to be worn.Since it is my first time, all these things are very new for me but it might not be the same for you. Again, I got the same position of seat. This seat was beside the window. In this flight, everything was fine.Even I met with a friendly guy in this plane. He was curious to know about us (malaysian students) and this conversation was in russian.I was so glad.I managed to talk and understand him even though my russian language was not so good at that time. It was only an hour flight to Volgograd, the city of heroes. Everyone was so exhausted. Our seniors welcomed us at the airport. Moreover, they helped us out to get to our hostel. There was a short briefing and a small refreshment prepared for us. Thanks a lot to the seniors!

That's the end for today, but my journey doesn't ends here.It continues!
